Merry Christmas, [FIRST NAME GOES HERE]

Hello Reader,

2024 is almost up, and the festive season is upon us. That means it’s a time to celebrate, reflect, and look ahead.

So, with that in mind, my team here at James White Sales and I want to wish you a very Merry Christmas. Thank you for being part of this newsletter. I genuinely appreciate your support, and I really hope the information I share here every Saturday truly helps you!

But I am curious: since we are at the end of the year – what growth have you seen for 2024?

Did you make it to achieve all the goals that you set for 2024? Whether it was sales targets, sales strategies, or business growth… I hope you did achieve at least a few… And I hope that it’s been a good year for you! But remember that it’s okay not to achieve everything we planned on.

After all, we are only human.

But… it’s also important to reflect and try to find some answers as to why we may not have achieved what we set out to achieve.

So, as you set your sights on 2025… Here are a few questions (and the answers) to ponder on:

  1. What’s the most important skill to develop in sales? Mastering emotional intelligence. Sales is about understanding people, building trust, and connecting authentically. Those who refine this skill will always have the edge.
  2. How can you grow and become more emotionally intelligent? Start by becoming a better listener. Tune in to what people truly need, and you’ll build stronger relationships and deliver real value.
  3. How do you build skills that stick? Practice deliberately. Choose one skill to improve and work on it consistently. Growth doesn’t happen by accident – it’s a result of focused effort.

Personally, here are some of the things I’ve learnt this year:

  • While motivation wins, discipline follows. You need motivation to get started, but discipline allows you to continue.
  • Nothing will be achieved if you don’t prioritise it.
  • Big sales deals take time. This year alone, I closed a deal for £124,000 - but it took time! So don’t always expect results straight away.
  • Most people still sell badly, and most people still interact with others in the wrong way - so there’s still a lot of opportunity!

So, as you enjoy the holidays, take a moment to reflect on the year that’s passed. What have you learnt, and… What’s one thing you’ll do differently in 2025? Or… what do you plan on changing?

Maybe it’s sharpening your sales strategy or focusing on growing. I’d love to hear about them!

And if you need any help in your sales strategy or don’t even know where to start… Just hit reply and let me know. We’ll have a chat and see how to get you on the right path!

And once again, from me and everyone here at James White, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

James

In today’s edition, we explore a simple sales story about Persistence and Trust. A good example of why prospects can in time be turned through simple methods and consistent engagement. Let’s get to it. Hello Reader, Sales is hard, but is often very easy. Some simple principles work if you do them consistently enough. Let me share with you a simple story which explains more. I have a friend, Stuart, who is a sales rep at an agricultural company. A few years ago, he was given a new role and...

In today’s edition, we explore why you HAVE to get clever about measuring the different stages of the sales journey that your prospects go on and where in the pipeline you have the sales problem. Let’s get to it. Hello Reader, We lost a customer a few weeks ago, and it annoyed me. I have a business which provides calling services to companies who want to generate new leads (contact me if that’s something you need help with 😊), and we are good at what we do. The guys have been trained by me,...

In today’s edition, we explore why humour is so important to opening doors and building relationships in sales. It has to be used at the right time, but when you do, then wow… Let’s get to it Hello Reader, I remember the day well. I had been on the phone trying to generate new leads for my software business for around 2 hours with limited success. I had made over 50 calls, and for the 20 or so people I had got to speak with (it was easier getting hold of people 15 years ago!!), they weren’t...
